The Osprey is an iconic coastal bird, one of the few common large birds of prey in UAE. It is the only bird of prey in the region to live a coastal life and feed exclusively on fish, which is catches by swooping down from the air and snatching fish close to the waters’ surface in its powerful claws. The Osprey’s long, extremely sharp curved claws are adopted to maintaining a firm grip on fast-moving, slippery fish.
